Best noble sweet wine of the year In the Gault Millau 2010 published today, our 2008 vintage receives highest praise. 10 out of 17 wines are given 90 points or more, four of which even made it to the nationwide top 10 in their categories. Including our Frühlingsplätzchen Spätlese coming third place as well as the Halenberg "Großes Gewächs" in the second, and "once again, the Schönlebers top their collection with breathtakingly crystal clear eisweins.": The Halenberg Eiswein - Goldkapsel - is the best noble sweet wine of the year!

Robert Parker: Great collection
Recently, Robert Parker published his assessments of our 2007 vintage.
His wine taster for Germany, David Schildknecht is above all fascinated
by the dry wines from Halenberg (Halenberg trocken: 93, Halenberg GG:
95 points, which means the best dry riesling in Germany!) In the category
noble sweet wines, he liked Frühlingsplätzchen most. Spätlese
and Auslese obtained both 94 points. Further ten wines could score 90
and more points!

Perfect grape harvest
The grape harvest 2009 has been successfully completed. Above all during
the last two weeks, we could harvest great qualities under the best
weather conditions. The wonderfully aromatic, ripe grapes are the best
prerequisite for equally wonderful wines. As
the noble sweet peak of the vintage, in Halenberg we could even secure
a Trockenbeerenauslese. It gives us some justified expectations...

VDP
wine auction successful
The traditional wine auction of the VDP Nahe brought us extremely positive
results. 110, - Euro (excl. VAT) was obtained for the 90 magnum bottles
of "Auf der Lay" Riesling trocken, while the 5 double magnum
bottles were sold at the price of 300 Euro each. We are very happy that
this new item in our collection is already so popular!

Wine of the month by Stuart Pigott ... is currently our 2008 Riesling trocken. Pigott comments:
"The wine has much more fruit aroma, substance and brilliance than
many of the dry riesling wines that are sold at substantially higher
prices under the names of famous vineyards and does not at all fit in
with the usual category of 'Estate Riesling'.

"Auf der Lay" - superb review on this year's auction wine Only few people have ever tasted it - no wonder, because the available quantity is tiny. Nonetheless - many of those who had the opportunity were literally in raptures. Our auction wine for this year, the "Auf der Lay" or, in short terms, "A.de.L" Riesling trocken is the first wine from the magnificent terroir in Monzingen to be sold. Marcus Hofschuster, Wein-Plus, is already a great fan. His marks: 98+ points!!

Excellent reviews in the USA It has already been several months since Robert Parker published the 2006 vintage review. Sensational 98 points (out of 100) for our Frühlingsplätzchen Riesling Beerenauslese Goldkapsel, closely followed by the Halenberg Riesling Beerenauslesewith 96 points! Also with the dry wines, we could offer some highlights. The Großes Gewächs from the Frühlingsplätzchen obtained 94 marks, the Halenberg 93. Wine Spectator has already published the review of the 2007 vintage as well. Our Halenberg Riesling Beerenauslese is again among the best marking 96 points, followed by Halenberg and Frühlingsplätzchen Riesling Auslese both with 95 points! Getting the marks of 93 points, also the both Riesling wines from Frühlingsplätzchen and Halenberg are extraordinary well evaluated. Generally, the German riesling wines of the 2007 vintage received highest praise. These wines are expected to have extremely great potential for ripening!
